The snow covered mountains and shoreline of Antarctica were always beautiful.

Icebergs were always present. Just go up on deck and you would see icebergs. Some were small, some were large, most were beautiful and no two came close to looking alike.

Penguins, penguins, thousand of penguins. All of the above penguins are Gentoo - which is what we saw most of the time. Jerry did some digital fancy footwork to create a couple of the photos.

Antarctica

Our Antarctica cruise was made on the Norwegian Cruise Ship, Nordnorge. It is a smaller cruise ship and we were able to negotiate the Antarctic Peninsula, islands, ice flows, icebergs, and wildlife. We made seven landings at different points on the Antarctica Peninsula. The above views were photographed while the ship was in Neko Harbor, Antarctica

The top photo are spectacular mountains in Tierra del Torres National Park in Southern chile. The middle photo is Tierra del Fuego National Park which is at the southern end of Argentina. This is where the Pan American Highway ends. The bottom photo is Cape Horn, the southern most part of South america.

South America

In January, 2008, Ellie and Jerry Traveled to South America and Antarctica. We spent three days in Rio de Janeiro, two days in Sao Paulo, and two days in Buenos Aires. We then flew to Ushuaia which is in the south of Argentina. We boarded a small cruise ship, cruised the Antarctica Peninsula, and the Chilean Fjords. We flew to Santiago, Chile for a couple days and then flew home. The above photos are in the Rio area.

Curacao, Netherlands Antilles was our next stop. It has a beautiful harbor as the photos show. Our last stop was San Juan, Puerto Rica. From there we flew home.

Aruba, Netherlands Antilles was our first stop after the Panama Canal. Jerry took the above sunrise panos before arriving at Aruba.
The Panama Canal passage was our next destination. Jerry took the above sunrise photo just before the canal. Jerry took a lot of photos of the passage but getting panoramas was difficult. Going through the locks and all was really interesting.
Puntarenas, Costa Rica was our next stop. Jerry was excited to see the La Paz water falls. There is a series of five water falls. The photo shows one of the falls. It was disappointing because the facilities didn't allow a good view of all the falls.

Our next stop was Huatulco, Mexico. Huatulco has a fairly new tourist industry and we were able to see how the natives live. The above photo is a lighthouse, on the coast, near the entrance to Huatulco harbor.

Our first stop was Cabo San Lucas, Baja, Mexico. We had been there several times so we didn't find the tourist shops very exciting. Our second stop was Alcapuco. No photos.

Panama Canal

In October, 2007, Ellie and Jerry went on a Panama Canal cruise. The photo above shows our cruise ship - Serenade of the Seas, Royal Caribbean Lines. The ship was everything one could ask for. Great facilities, great food, and outstanding entertainment! We boarded the ship in San Diego, California.

Fall Colors, Utah, 2007

Jerry made several trips into the mountains to take photos. Above are some of the panoramas he came up with.

Tree Panoramas

The above three trees were taken on the Mirror Lake Highway just before you get to Mirror Lake.

The above three vertical panorama photos were taken near our cabin on the upper Weber River. Interesting!
